"Transformers 5," which is scheduled to be released in 2017, is rumored to have found its ultimate villain, the gigantic planet-sized transformer going by the name "Unicron," according to the latest news reports.

Unicron made its first appearance in the 1986 animated flick "The Transformers: The Movie" as a planet-sized robot with ravenous hunger to conquer planets.

Back in 2014, after the release of "Age of Extinction," the movie's screenwriter Ehren Kruger talked about his interest in exploring the legends behind "Unicron" - the biggest transformer in the history of gargantuan robots, according to MNR Daily.

According to the mythology, "Unicron" is the giant robot that gulps down planets and its inhabitants. In the 1986 flick, it planned on reaching Cybertron to eat the Autobots and Decepticons' home planet.

Kruger revealed the news on "Transformers 5" featuring "Unicron" as he shared the challenge of merge its mythos into the storyline of other transformers.

With "Unicron" in the picture, it is highly likely that "Transformers 5" will be set in space. This speculation has led the fans in to believing that human components in the latest movie will be bare minimum.

But head writer Akiva Goldsman recently cleared the air as he said that franchise will continue having strong human element in all the upcoming films.

"Do I think Transformers can live without humans? Sure," said Goldsman, reported Youth Health Magazine. "Do I think humans can live without Transformers? Sure. In Transformers movies? Sure!"

"But, fundamentally, there seems to be something really great about the interaction between the two species. I think that, in the main, I would suggest that that would be something you wouldn't want to squander. Although that doesn't mean that you couldn't do all sorts of things for a little while," he added.

With Michael Bay making a comeback as the director for "Transformers 5," fans are eagerly waiting any news regarding the expansion of the universe beyond the earth.

The team of writers under leadership of Goldsman will make use of toys, TV shows, merchandise and other things created by Hasbro, to institute a mythological timeline, according to Christian Post.
