'Orange Is The New Black' Renewed For Three Additional Seasons On Netflix; More Season 4 Spoilers Leaked
Netflix's hit comedy-drama television series, "Orange is the New Black," which is currently at its third season, has been successfully renewed for three additional seasons.
The big news was announced on the show's own streaming platform on Friday, Feb. 5.
The renewal came after the show's big win during the Screen Actors Guild awards over the weekend.
"Orange is the New Black" has won the comedy ensemble award while singer-actress Uzo Adulba, who plays the role as Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren in the story, brought home the comedy female actor trophy award.
"Three more years! Not quite a political term, but still plenty of time to do some interesting things. In some cultures, 'May you lead an interesting life,' is a curse, but I don't live in those cultures," said show producer Jenji Kohan, according to the Wall Street Journal. "Here's to keeping it interesting."
Supporting Kohan's brief speech, Netflix's vice president Cindy Holland then added that Jenhi and her whole team have all worked hard together to create something extraordinary.
"Jenji and her team have produced a phenomenal and impactful series that is both funny and dramatic, outrageous and heartfelt." said Holland.
She added "Audiences around the world have come to love the ladies and men of Orange is the New Black, and we are eager to see where three more seasons will take them."
Besides relaying the good news of the renewal to viewers, Kohan also gave a hint about what might be in store for "Orange is the New Black" season 4.
"We want it to be a surprise, but [you can expect] all the fun stuff like race and hate and some things from current events that we wanted to filter through our lens," she said, as quoted in Variety.
Moreover, Kohan also teased that the much awaited season is the best so far, adding that "fans are going to be really happy."
As the fourth chapter of the well-embraced series comes closer to its official premiere date, the viewers can expect more "Orange is the New Black" season 4 spoilers to come out in the woodworks, especially with the news about the renewal.
"Orange is the New Black" season 4 is set to premiere on Monday, June 27.
