NBA Trade Rumors: Golden State Warriors Consideing Harrison Barnes-Kevin Durant Switch?
The NBA is abuzz with rumors and speculations about possible trades now that the deadline is nearing its end. It is, after all, every team's last chance to make amends into their lineup before the start of the post-season.
According to Fox Sports, the most interesting deal involves Kevin Durant who is also nearing the end of his contract with the Oklahoma City Thunders. The 27-year-old forward is an excellent choice for any team that can come up with a deal to lure him out of his current group.
Durant is one of the most interesting and top player, if not the best, in the league. He has an offensive power worthy of an MVP and he is also a valuable asset in the defensive side of the game. The only thing missing for him is a Championship ring, and this might play a big factor that will affect his choice of team to play for, according to Inquisitr.
NBA trade rumors claim that the Golden State Warriors are eyeing to add Durant into their lineup. Reportedly, the reigning champions are currently checking their trade options and are now working to clear their salary cap in order to make room for the small foward.
Some sports analysts believe that the only thing holding the Warriors from acquiring Durant is the salary cap. Should Durant choose to become a free agent, the maximum any team can offer him will be $25 million for a four or five year contract.
With the circulating NBA trade rumors, the Warriors has a lot of things to consider in signing Durant. This means the organization have to clear some salary space by letting go some of its players. One of most prominent pick here is Harrison Barnes who is set to become a restricted free agent by the end of the season.
Barnes played a key role in the Warriors in both ends of the floor. However, should the call for Durant persist, the organization would reportedly not hesitate to let him go in exchange of a bigger star.
As for Durant, becoming a free agent means he will have a lot of option to consider. This includes the Warriors' being at the peak of basketball dominance vis-à-vis his team up with Russell Westbrook supposedly not being enough to win him a Championship.
