Exploring Samsung's 2016 Galaxy A7 And Galaxy A5, Released Last Month In India
Last month, South Korean flagship tech Samsung launched the two new addition to the A series family- 2016 Galaxy A7 and the 2016 Galaxy A5 for Indian market at a Samsung Forum event held in Kuala Lumpur on Feb. 4, Gadgets 360 reported.
But what exactly is there for Indians (or anyone else for that matter) to learn about these two gadgets? Let's take a look.
The 2016 Galaxy A5 sports a five-inch full-HD Super Amoled capacitive touch screen display with a 11280 x 720 pixels resolution and a 13MP rear camera with 4208 x 3120 pixels. It houses a 2GB of RAM,16GB Inbuilt memory, a Lithium-Ion 2300mAh battery with fast charging and runs under a 1.6 GHz Quad Core processor. Dimension measures 139.3 x 69.7 x 6.7 mm and weighs 123 grams. In addition, the 2016 Galaxy A5 also operates with an Android OS, v4.4.4 KitKat and a Hybrid Dual SIM, in which the second slot can also be used as a microSD slot as noted by Fone Arena.
On the other hand, the 2016 Galaxy A7 flaunts a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display with 1080x1920 resolution for a brighter and crisper view.
It uses a chipset 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor combined with a 3GB RAM ensures a smooth performance and can handle numerous apps without hanging or lagging.
It also features a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera both sporting an f/1.9 aperture lenses. Adding to its physical attributes is the fingerprint scanner, a plus feature for a smartphone. Moreover, it also supports Optimal Image Stabilization (OIS) for those with shaky hands, according to the website Tech 2.
As reported by Fone Arena, the 2016 Galaxy A7 smartphone also boasts a 16GB built internal storage, which is also expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The 2016 Galaxy A7 supports LTE Cat. 6 connectivity on top of Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, ANT+, USB 2.0 and NFC connectivity options. Measures 151.5x74.1x7.3mm in dimension, weighs 172 grams and is powered by a 3300mAh battery, which also supports fast charging. Also, it has geomagnetic sensors, accelerometer and proximity.
According to Android Authority, the Samsung 2016 Galaxy A7 runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop UI which is quite unsatisfying and out-of-the-box.
However, the price tag of $653 for 2016 Galaxy A5 and $742 for 2016 Galaxy A7 is something that could make some consumers think twice from immediately purchasing the device. With numerous Chinese vendors in India, the preferences of the market might be changing and the value of the device could be considered a bit pricey.
