Hilary Duff Forks Out Millions In Settlement For Mike Comrie Divorce Despite Prenup

Former Disney star Hilary Duff and husband Mike Comrie finalized their divorce after reaching a financial settlement on Tuesday, Feb. 2.

The couple reportedly had a pre-nuptial agreement in place but Duff had to fork out $ 2.5 million to settle the financial split with Comrie.

As a part of the divorce agreement, Hilary Duff gets to keep the pair's lavish Beverly Hills mansion and a Malibu mobile home. On the other hand, Mike Comrie will keep his two cars--a 2014 Bentley coupe and a 2013 Mercedes G-Class SUV---and some jewelry, according to Mail Online.

Duff and Comrie belong to varied professional backgrounds. Duff is singer and actress by profession. She has starred in the television series and a movie, both by the name "Lizzy McGuire."

Currently she can be seen playing the role of Kelsey Peters in the TV Land series, "Younger."

Meanwhile, Comrie is a retired hockey player. He played professional hockey between 2000 and 2011 and ended his career playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins, reported Fox News.

Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie tied the knot in August 2010 after dating for three years, and announced their split in January 2014. With the divorce, they filed joint custody for their 3-year-old son, Luca Cruz.

The estranged couple will divide the child-rearing expenses without any spousal support.

Despite the split, Duff talked about the joys of co-parenting.

"We have such a great kid. And we're both so obsessed with him," said Duff, as per Mirror. "We are good friends and we laugh a lot."

"And we have a great communication and we share pictures when one is not with Luca."

And it seems there's no bad blood from Hilary Duff forking $2.5 million to finalize the divorce as she only has good words to say regarding his relationship with Mike Comrie.

"He's great, we are great and we keep on trucking. Mike and I were very in love when we met. We both really wanted to get married. I'd been working since the age of 11 or 12, so making that choice at a young age seemed right for me."
