Charlie Hunnam Not Returning For 'Sons of Anarchy' Spin-Off? Actor Teases Brad Pitt Might Appear As His Father In The Prequel
Kurt Sutter's hit crime drama television series "Sons of Anarchy," wherein Charlie Hunnam plays the main lead as Jackson "Jax" Teller, has been rumored for a prequel and a spin-off release, following its seventh season which ended its airing in December 2014.
While the speculations about the series' most talked about spin-off and prequel continue to spur on the headlines, rumor has it that Hunnam is unfortunately not reprising his role in the "Sons of Anarchy" series.
Though Hunnam has not confirmed the rumors yet and the series is still on a pre-production state, it was said that the 35-year-old actor has plenty of projects in the row that may come first before his decision in reprising his role for the spin-off is set.
On the other hand, it was said that Sutter hinted that the plot will be set in the 60's time in Vietnam.
"I feel it will be a little more, I don't want to say a historical show, but it takes place in the '60s and it's Vietnam, so there's a lot of iconic events happening around it that influence John Teller." he said, according to E! Online.
Reports claimed that it will be coming out with a total with 10 to 12 episodes in one season. Moreover, it was also said that the prequel will showcase the real connection of JohnTeller and Piney, a member of the Sons of Anarchy Motorclub along with Teller.
Fuelling up the excitement among the fans, who are already on the lookout for the rumored upcoming SOA projects in the row, rumor has it that a young Jax Teller may also come into view in the spin-off.
In addition, "Fury" actor Brad Pitt might take up the role as Jax Teller's father in the series. The claims first sparked after Charlie Hunnam teased about Pitt's possible appearance in the prequel.
"Kurt is trying to get [the prequel] going," Hunnam teased in an interview with the Men's Journal. "Did you read that about Brad Pitt maybe playing my dad? Brad Pitt as John Teller? How awesome would that be?"
While the showrunners have not yet disclosed any details about the casting and premiere date, it has been speculated that the "Sons of Anarchy" spin-off series will be out later this year. Could Charlie Hunnam still be part of the show?
