Right after Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez dropped their duet, dating rumors started firing up again, freaking out fans of both singers.

In a new interview with Seventeen, Charlie Puth was asked whether there's truth in the said dating rumors. Asked if he has a crush on Selena Gomez, the "Marvin Gaye" singer answered candidly.

"I mean... who wouldn't?" Charlie Puth said.

However, once he got to know Selena Gomez a little bit better and learned that she's just a sweet, normal girl, Charlie Puth said his feelings turned into something else - genuine friendship.

"Once you get to know her, it's a little different," Charlie Puth said. However, the singer admitted that he finds the "Hands to Myself" singer as "sexy."

"She has a really sexy voice," Puth said. "That's why I wanted her to go on the song."

On whether or not it bothered him that people are so interested in his and Selena Gomez's dating life, the "See You Again" crooner had this to say: "People are taking an interest in the music if they're getting concerned about my personal life. They can speculate."

"Charlie thinks that Selena is great, but as shocking as it might sound he doesn't want to pursue anything romantically with her," Hollywood Life previously reported. "They had a really fun time but hung out in a sea of people that it was mostly pleasantries and such and then they went on with their nights. No couple here!"

Selena Gomez also took to Twitter to say that she is not dating Charlie Puth.

"Before it begins, he is a good one," Gomez wrote alongside a photo with Puth. "He is MY FRIEND only lol."
