"Deadpool" star Ryan Reynolds, who welcomed baby girl James in December 2014 with wife Blake Lively, experienced what many fathers around the world already realized--lack of sleep can be a huge trip.

Although things are better now that Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively's baby is already 13 months old, the Canadian actor revealed the terrible first few months.

"During those first six months, it's amazing that you find a way to keep going," said Reynolds, as reported by Today. "Just the lack of sleep, and the hallucinations. F--k peyote. You want to trip balls? Have a kid and see what it's like to be awake for a month straight."

Reynolds said that in the early months, the sleepless nights made him have weird hallucinations.

"You'll have moments where you're like, 'Did I really ride a unicorn to work? I'm pretty sure I didn't, but I don't know," he added, noted Business standard. "Was Willie Nelson cradling my testicles this morning? It probably wasn't him, but let me check his tour schedule just to be sure.'"

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively live in rural New York with baby James, away from the glitz and glam of Tinseltown.

The 39-year-old actor wants to give his daughter a normal childhood where the couple does not have to hide in their apartment to keep his baby away from paparazzi. The "Deadpool" star also wants her to go outdoors and experience the world the way he did as a child.

After Ryan Reynolds opened up about his experience with baby James, he also talked about his own dad who passed away last winter after suffering from Parkinson's disease.

Reynolds stated that he had a deeply complicated relationship with his father. It led to leaving behind some questions unanswered at the time of his death, according to Perezhilton.

But the "Deadpool" star was grateful for the fact that he and his brothers were at their father's bedside joking with him right before he passed away.
