'GTA 6' Release Date To Coincide With PlayStation 5 Arrival? Maps To Include All Of U.S.?

Rockstar Drops 'GTA 6' Gameplay Video; Release Date Now Rumored To Be In 2018

Rockstar Studios has been enjoying steady success with "GTA 5" since it was released on XBox 360 and PlayStation 3 two years ago.

A year later, they released the game for the PlayStation 4 and XBox One and last year a version for Microsoft Window came out.

Since the franchise is stuck with the two consoles for the time being, it is believed that Rockstar will only release DLC's for "GTA 5" while simultaneously working on the sequel, "GTA 6," which will reportedly feature maps from previous installments together with an introduction of a female character.

Violence, stealing cars and killing civilians -- all of these things are the reasons why people keep playing the open-world game series.

Since Rockstar will take a bit of time to develop "GTA 6," fans are expecting it to be more violent if it drops on its rumored 2018 release date.

Details about "GTA 6" are being kept under lock and key, but there are rumors that a real-life Hollywood couple Ryan Gosling ("Blade Runner 2") and Eva Mendes ("Place Beyond The Pines") are involved in the project.

If true, the rumors about "GTA 6" having a female character will likely happen.

Rockstar co-founder and vice president Dan Houser has already expressed his interest in having a female lead in one of their games.

"We just haven't found the right game for it yet, but it's one of the things we always think about," Houser said in an interview with The Guardian.

"It didn't feel natural for this game [GTA V] but definitely for the right game in the future - with the right themes. It could be fantastic."

Naturally, Houser's comments sparked rumors that a female character might lead "GTA 6."

In line with the release date news, the upcoming installment's maps are also the subject of rumors.

According to Neurogadget, a Reddit user by the name of VemillionDemonFox claimed that the new game will contain all the other maps of the previous GTA games.
