'Death Note' Movie Cast Set To Include Natt Wolff? Details Released!

Young Hollywood actor Natt Wolff has been reported to star in the upcoming American remake of popular manga and anime series "Death Note" under Warner Brothers, Variety reports.

The character of "Fault in Our Stars" and "Paper Towns" star Nat Wolff in Death Note movie has been described as "a student who discovers a supernatural notebook that allows him to kill anyone simply by writing the victim's name." While no names have been revealed yet, the said character describes accurately as the 17-year-old Light Yagami in the original series.

The movie is slated to start production in spring of2016. Adam Wingard will direct the film while Jeremy Slater is working on drafts of the script. Warner Brothers acquired production rights to create a US adaptation of "Death Note" in 2009 according to Anime News Network.

The US remake of "Death Note" will be produced by Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment, Dan Lin of Lin Pictures, Jason Hoffs of Viz Production, and actor Masi Oka. Doug Davison and Brian Witten have been confirmed as executive producers, while Niija Kuykendall and Nik Mavinkurve will overlook the project on behalf of Warner.

Twenty-year-old Nat Wolff was born on December 17, 1994 in Los Angeles, California. He rose to fame when he starred in Nickelodeon comedy series The Naked Brother Band in 2007, which earned him a Broadcast Music Inc. Cable Award on the same year. He appeared in 15 movies including The Fault in Our Stars and The Intern. His latest film, In Dubious Battle, is slated for 2016 release and is currently under post-production phase.

Meanwhile, "Death Note" tells a story of high school student Light Yagami who finds a notebook in which he can put people to death by writing their names and include matters of their deaths. At present, it already inspired an anime film and TV series, 3 live-actions films and a currently ongoing live-action TV drama in Japan.

Will the role of Light Yagami fit well for Nat Wolff in Death Note movie? We will leave it to diehard "Death Note" fans to find out.
