'Guardians Of The Galaxy 2' Sequel Movie News, Cast, Spoilers: Chris Pratt's Star Lord To Fight A New Villain

It is still a year away until moviegoers could see the upcoming sequel of "Guardians Of The Galaxy" entitled "Guardians Of The Galaxy 2," wherein Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana will be reprising their roles in the upcoming installment.

It is that Star Lord, played by Pratt, will be fighting a new villain in the upcoming "Guardians Of The Galaxy 2" film.

According to new reports, the film's director James Gunn will be introducing a new character to haunt Star Lord and his team named Ego. So, who and what will be Ego's role in the film?

"Ego was once a regular planet until he was imbued with sentience by a character called 'The Stranger,'" Inquisitr wrote in a post.

If this is true, Star Lord will be fighting a villain planet in the sequel.

"In a search for self, Ego set off to conquer other planets, and that's when Thor, the God of Thunder stepped in to put an end to Ego's ambitions of conquest," Geek wrote in a post.

According to Geek, there will be a crossover with "Avengers" in the upcoming film. It has recently been reported that Ego was a regular old planet until "The Stranger" gave it consciousness.

"I think there's going to be huge fans of the Guardians and there are huge fans of the Avengers and I think the discussion has already been had [at Marvel]. I think the audience may demand something like that," Gunn revealed, Hypable quoted. "We talked about all sorts of possibilities [for a crossover] and I kind of know what the basic plan is. It could always change at any minute."

Director James Gunn has not commented on the spoilers of his latest film. The "Guardians Of The Galaxy 2" will start filming on February 11. Main characters will be coming back to join Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana including Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, and Pom Klementieff.
