[Watch] ‘Orange Is The New Black’ Cast Talks Season 4 Spoilers, Hollywood Diversity During SAG Awards
The cast of "Orange is the New Black" revealed spoilers on how season 4 will pick up after more than 1 year since the 3rd season ended.
"This season I think is one of our best by far, and I think the fans are going to be really happy," Laura Prepon teased, while on the SAG Awards red carpet. "Our writers are so good and Jenji is just so awesome, and they really, we just keep proving ourselves over and over again and Netflix just lets us do our thing, man, it's incredible. "
The "OITNB" star also revealed a minor spoiler for season 4.
"What's cool is season 4 actually picks up right where season 3 left off," Prepon shared. "So it's literally, it continues five seconds later, which is really great because at the end of last season...I was in the greenhouse, and there was all this craziness going on and it's awesome."
During the SAG Awards, Laura Prepon, Uzo Aduba, Laverne Cox and the rest of the Litchfield inmates climbed on stage to accept their award for Best Ensemble in a Comedy Award.
During their speech, Laura Prepon took the time to acknowledge the diversity issue in Hollywood.
"Look at this stage," Prepon said, in reference to the fact that the Oscars this year has an all-white list of nominees. "This is what we talk about when we talk about diversity: different race, color, creed and sexual orientation."
Meanwhile, Laverne Cox shared her opinion on the #OscarsSoWhite controversy backstage.
"The problem starts in the writing rooms, in the studios," Cox said. "The producers, the directors and casting people need to open up their eyes that this is a different world that we're living and diversity is not just black and white. Diversity is universal and it's a lot more than we are focusing on - it's religions, it's sexuality."
The cast of "Orange is the New Black" returns for the Netflix series' 4th season on June 17.
