Leonardo DiCaprio is now 2-for-2 on major award giving bodies, which fueled speculations that the actor is a shoo-in for his first Oscars trophy.

On Saturday night, DiCaprio received the Best Actor plum at the 2016 SAG Awards for his role in "The Revenant."

While his speech at the Golden Globes 2016 was political, Leonardo DiCaprio's message at the SAG was more personal.

"I am truly humbled by this as it comes from all of you, my fellow actors. Thank you from the bottom of my heart," he said.

"For any young actors out there I encourage you to study the history of cinema because as the history of cinema unfolds, we all stand on the shoulders of giants. So I want to thank all the actors in this room who made this possible."

Leonardo DiCaprio thanked his parents for allowing a precocious 13-year-old kid "who wanted to go on auditions every day after school."

"I would not be standing up here without you, Thank you."

For all his accolades, Leonardo DiCaprio still has to win the most prestigious trophy of all-the Oscars.

"As has been pointed out on numerous occasions, he has yet to win an Oscar, but this year it looks very likely having won at both the Screen Actors Guild and the Golden Globes," noted The Independent.

"For his performance - which saw the actor eat raw bison, go swimming in freezing cold lakes and sleep in a horse's carcass - DiCaprio is nominated for an Oscar."

The 41-year-old actor has actually been nominated for the Oscars five times, and each time Leonardo DiCaprio walked home empty.

Kate Winslet has already been quoted earlier during the Golden Globes 2016 that this is going to be Leonardo DiCaprio's year at the Oscars. Now, Claire Danes is in full support of her "Romeo + Juliet" co-star.

"He's been a genius for decades and he's not very old," she told Entertainment Weekly. "He's such an exquisite actor and we've all adored him. He's been underappreciated in that kind of formal, blingy sense."
