Is Ed Sheeran Trying To Hide His New Girlfriend? Traumatized By Past Relationship?

Being as famous as he is, Ed Sheeran's girlfriend will most definitely be hounded by paparazzi and scrutinized by the public.

That's certainly what happened to his non-showbiz ex, Athina Andrelos. Did social media and public scrutiny scare him into keeping his new relationship as private as he could?

The "Thinking Out Loud" singer recently deactivated all of his social media accounts after his "Multiply" tour ended, to the dismay of his millions of fans.

"Hello all," he posted on Instagram last month.

"I'm taking a break from my phone, emails and all social media for a while. I've had such an amazing ride over the last 5 years but I find myself seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes so I'm taking this opportunity to me not having to be anywhere or do anything to travel the world and see everything I missed."

And while fans may have been disappointed with his announcement, the singer announced that he is getting ready to release a new album.

"To my family and friends, if you love me you will understand me buggering off for a bit, to my fans, the 3rd album is on its way and is the best thing I have made thus far," he explained. "See you all next autumn, and thank you for being amazing."

He may have "buggered off" for a month now, but Ed Sheeran's been seen with his girlfriend around London and even going to parties.

Although he tried to keep his relationship with food stylist Athina Andrelos as private as possible in the past, photos of them vacationing together still made its way to social media.

They eventually started coming to events as a couple but it seemed like Andrelos didn't really look comfortable being photographed by paparazzi and hounded by fans.

They eventually broke up after Sheeran reportedly failed to brush off fans' advances after the Brit Awards last year.

Could he be taking a break from social media to keep this relationship as private as possible?
