'Serial' Season 2 Updates: Episode 5 Recap; The Story of Bowe Bergdahl Revealed

After it was announced that "Serial" season 2 has rescheduled the releasing of episodes every other week, the regular viewers of the hit podcast series have since been getting a fixed weekly episode.

Not minding the new time slot which means a longer waiting time for the viewers, the show bid an assurance that every episode would be worth the wait. Speaking of, the last "Serial" chapter titled "The Captors," marked the fourth episode of Bowe Bergdahl case story.

It was announced that the new schedule will kick off at the fifth episode. On the aftermath of the last chapter, "Serial" season 2 has promised to showcase who were the people who tried to bring Bergdahl home and disclose the participants in the case story, who helped him flee and abandon his post.

As noted by earlier reports, the new season will focus on Bowe Bergdahl's case, with questions mainly centered as to what really happened at the time before and after the subject was arrested.

Adding to this much roller-coaster ride investigation about the case, "Serial" season 2 is where Bergdahl would be asked to speak up his reasons why he wanted to escape from the military base in Afghanistan back in 2009, how he was arrested and what kind of captivity he had experienced from the Taliban.

While Bergdahl is still yet to be hot-seated, the fifth episode of "Serial" season 2 begins with Sarah Koenig questioning Kim Harrison, Bergdahl's family friend whose name was the one listed as his emergency contact.

"For this episode, I'm going to lay out the twisty, turny, and often the emotional path that came before the president signed off on that trade." said Koenig, in reference to Bergdahl, who was traded in exchange for five Taliban prisoners.

Though the episode has highlighted Bowe Bergdahl's story and why he ended up fleeing from the base, it did not miss out hinting about these small-named people who wanted to help at the very least but failed to bring Bergdahl home.

In 2011, Bergdahl's father named Bob made a video appeal for the Pakistani government, wherein he had asked for help for his son's safety return. Each episode is pulling up more interests from the viewers, who have been wanting to hear Sgt. Bergdahl's side.

"Serial" season 2 episode 6 will be taking place a week after this week. The third instalment of the hit podcast series is said to be out in spring this year.
