Melissa McCarthy's Weight Loss Reaches 75 Pounds; Daughters Inspire Actress To Continue Feat
Melissa McCarthy took her incredible weight loss feat to a whole new level after the 45-year-old "Bridesmaids" star recently unveiled her slimmer figure as she dropped 75 pounds off the scale.
McCarthy claimed that her secret to shedding off the pounds is relatively simple. It involves low-carb diet and high intensity exercise regimen coupled with Pilates.
Following her monumental feat, the actress has become one of the most awaited stars in the red carpet. And just recently, she even highlighted her now slim figure by wearing clothes coming from her own clothing line.
Nutritionist and celebrity trainer Charlene Ciardiello said that the key to achieving meaningful weight loss like that of Melissa McCarthy's is not rocket science. It only involves interval training and a strict regimen of diet that includes healthy proteins and salads.
"The Boss" star's current food intake involves cutting down significant portions of bread and pasta.
"Hit the pavement or treadmill for 20 to 30 minutes, alternating between walking and jogging for a minute, then running or sprinting for a minute," Ciardiello advised per In Touch Weekly.
Reports have it that Melissa McCarthy's weight loss transformation started as unintentional. The "Mike and Molly" star revealed that that her role in the 2015 movie "Spy" forced her to follow an extensive workout regimen in order to prepare her body for some of the movie's action scenes.
"Melissa never expected to drop all this weight. She has no intension of losing any more, but if by following the same plan, it drops off, she's not going to complain," a person close to the actress said per Youth Health Magazine.
Aside from preparing for a movie role, McCarthy claimed that her young daughters motivated her to pursue shedding off the weight. The actress said in one of her interviews that she wants to be a role model for her children. Reportedly, this is what keeps her on top of the game and despite the arduous workout she submits herself into.
