Cortana Windows 10 Update Announced; Email Scanning For Movie Tickets Added; Other Features Detailed!

Microsoft has announced new updates coming to Windows 10's personal assistant, Cortana.

Since its debut in Windows phone 8.1, the voice assistant has served its best. By uttering "Hey, Cortana, " you can search the web, set reminders, ask for weather forecasts, get directions, etcetera.

Now, the company is enhancing how the virtual assistant Cortana schedules conflicts. The new update for Windows 10 that is about to roll out is that it will search for emails where you have mentioned about an upcoming task and remind you on completing the same.

With the forthcoming upgrade, the OS will start scanning the emails of users and create reminders based on what it learns.

"Cortana will look for emails where you've said you're going to do something," Said Marc Ash from Microsoft, cited by GottaBeMobile, "People often make promises to do things in email but may forget about them as the days go by and emails pile up."

"Microsoft Research (MSR) was pursuing an intriguing and powerful idea around this challenge-automatically recognizing when people make commitments to one another in email messages and providing reminders", he added in his blog.

The personal assistant is about to make suggestions based on their daily schedules and routines based on the user's calendars. It is going to serve as a real assistant by understanding how you may uniquely want to work- your productive timings as well as the other timings and/or your preferred timings for meetings, etc.

For instance, if you're not an evening person, she will alert you about the meetings scheduled for late in the evening. And will help you avoid on missing last-minute meetings by alerting you to it.

The new update on the Cortana for Windows 10 has since attracted numerous reactions from fans and tech geeks alike.
