It has been confirmed that Google has turned to LG for the creation of another Nexus smartphone, planning the release on October 2015.

For years, the web giant has been working on mid-priced phones - managing the development, marketing and tech support - with smartphone companies to assess the efficiency of Android on different devices. And it's not the first time Google has collaborated with LG. They have rolled out Nexus 4 with the updated 4.2 Jelly Bean on November 2012 and Nexus 5 with 4.4 KitKat on October 2013. The five-inch screen and sleek Nexus 5 has been a big hit, selling millions worldwide.

Now, Google has developed another Nexus phone with LG, focusing on its new OS - Android M. It boasts of wonderful features like twice the battery life, a payment system and fingerprint support.

LG sees this collaboration with Google as greatly beneficial, considering the tech company's knowhow. It will let the mobile division learn ideas they can integrate into their new smartphones, the same way they have applied Nexus 5's technology into G3.

G3 has driven the company's 311.9 billion won profit in 2014. G4, on the other hand, hasn't been much successful. It has lost to its rivals, iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6. The result is LG going down the rank of global smartphones. It has maintained its position as the manufacturer with the third largest share until last year. But it has dropped to fifth place behind Xiaomi and Huawei this year. While its smartphone sales reached 14.1 million in the first half of 2015, it has only gained 200 million won operating profit. According to industry watchers, the new Nexus might just bring them up the ladder again.
