Chris Brown Australian Visa Denied; Ticket Sales For Concert Still Ongoing!
The upcoming tour of US singer Chris Brown in Australia might get canceled as immigration minister Peter Dutton confirmed the denial of his visa application for his concert tour in the Land Down Under, as reported by The Guardian.
The denial of visa application of Chris Brown in Australia has been denied on Friday due to character grounds. The 25-year old R&B singer was given 28 days to appeal the decision. In 2009 he pleaded guilty of felony, attacking his then girlfriend Rihanna.
Minister Dutton said that people who are given notices for 28-day period must be able to present material on why they should be granted a visa to enter Australia. The decision will be finalized after review and consideration of submitted material to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection.
Michaelia Cash, the newly-appointed Women's Minister, the minister is looking over this matter very seriously and would not pre-empt the decision. She also added that people need to understand if you have done domestic violence and then you want to travel the world, there will be countries that will advise you not to come in theirs -simply implies your character is not something the Aussies will expect.
However, ticket sales for the nation's leg of his One Hell Of A Nite tour still proceeded despite the immigration's decision. Ticketek launched sales across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth effective Monday, with price ranges from AU$100.93 to AU$508.73 for the VIP meet-and-greet package. The concert is scheduled for December 14 at Allphones Arena in Sydney.
The said ticket provided also released an official statement regarding the denial of Chris Brown in Australia, saying that he continued his personal growth and Brown's management is hoping that this would influence their decision - also adding that he already visited Australia since 2009 twice on 2 separate occasions as reported by Sydney Morning Herald.
Chis Brown is also scheduled to perform in New Zealand on December 18 as part of his concert tour. No updates have been announced yet as Immigration New Zealand confirmed that he still has to submit his visa application to enter the said country. Ticketmaster confirmed that refunds will be issued if the show will not push through.
