'Star Wars' Actor John Boyega Claims He Has No Love Life; Star And Daisy Ridley Romance Not Going To Happen?
John Boyega, who stars opposite Daisy Ridley in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," revealed that his fame from the recently released film is getting in the way of his love life.
John Boyega's career soared after playing one of the key characters in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." However, the "Attack The Block" star says that he's set to only date women who aren't interested in his new found fame.
Boyega said that he recently went on a date in New York, but his plans of keeping his fame under wraps was foiled by a Star Wars billboard in Manhattan Times Square.
"I tried to go on a date recently with a girl who knew nothing about me which was fantastic," the 23-year-old said in a statement published by Toronto Sun. "You want to go on a date fresh, like 'I want her to love me for who I am'... I picked her up in New York and we got to Times Square and she went, 'So what do you do?' and I pointed at this huge billboard and it ruined the whole situation. It is weird to see myself elevated. It is crazy for me to see that. I don't know how other actors get over that."
Meanwhile, Boyega's co-star, Daisy Ridley, seems to have more luck with romance these days. The actress was recently spotted with boyfriend Charlie Hamblett enjoying a stroll in Hampstead, North West London.
While Ridley has been making headlines with her part in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," Hamblett has been making his way as a West End stage.
According Daily Mail, Hamblett had a supporting role in the Berthold Brecht play "The Resistable Rise of Arturo Ui" at London's Duchess Theatre. This year the 22-year-old actor set to appear in BBC's "The Secret Agent."
John Boyega and Daisy Ridely are expected to reprise their roles in "Star Wars: Episode 8" on Dec. 15, 2017.
