Fans of 90's hip hop duo (then trio) TLC have been anticipating for the group's comeback through a new album this 2016. Group member Chilli finally made an announcement that they are going to release their fifth (and last) album after a successful fan-funded project.

The group said that the fifth album is going to be their last album. They now have funds for the production as they took to crowd funding site Kick Starter to aware fans all over the world of their intention to finish the album, according to Yahoo! News.

"We have SUPER EXCITING NEWS to share with you WE ARE RECORDING OUR LAST AND FINAL ALBUM," the hip hop duo said online. "We wouldn't dream of making our final album with anyone BUT our fans. Come on y'all, BE A PART OF TLC HISTORY!"

They have also added that the sound of their new 2016 album will be true to the TLC sound that fans have enjoyed since and that it will be about facing real issues and real life experiences. "We will continue to make music for EVERYONE, music that's UNIVERSAL, TOUCHABLE," the duo said.

"We're trying to finish up the album, and after today, [it will be] day in, day out, just getting this album done," group member Chilli told Billboard. "I'll just say this - we're bringing back our interludes. We've come up with some really fun, funny stuff for people to enjoy."

The album will be produced by music producer Ron Fair who is working closely with T-Boz and Chilli. "It's 90s throwback music," according to Fair.

"It's vintage TLC and I can tell you that their vocals sound exactly the way they did the last time you heard them."

TLC, with their new album coming this 2016, is composed of T-Boz and Chilli. Third member Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes died in 2002 due to a vehicular accident in La Ceiba, Honduras.
