A lot of "Vikings" season 4 spoilers speculate about the possible fate of Ragnar Lothbrok played by Travis Fimmel. There are speculations that the brave warrior will die this season and his son will take his spot as the leader of the group.

The fourth season of the History Channel TV series is expected to become a bloodbath as the people from Kattegat step up their efforts to conquer Paris. Those who are willing to fight must accept the fact that they might die in the battlefield.

But people do not have to tell this to Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick), Ragnar's former wife and fellow warrior.

The latest "Vikings" season 4 trailer offered plenty of spoilers as the shield maiden took center stage, expressing her intention to go to war. For her, it is "Victory or Valhalla."

In earlier interviews, series creator Michael Hirst said Winnick's character is set for an interesting storyline.

"She has an amazing story arc this season; something so unexpected that I can't even begin to talk about it because I would immediately say too much," he told The Hollywood Reporter back in July.

"I'm so proud that Katheryn and I have created one of the few female characters on American TV who is a mother, a wife and kicks ass. I can promise that she does all those things."

He added, "She will always be in the mix and she to me is Ragnar's equal in so many ways. Even I'm sorry they're still not married. They are meant to be together, I know that. But it wasn't to be, fate didn't ordain that. Her trajectory and role though are just as significant as Ragnar's."

Meanwhile, spoilers claim that a new cast member has been added to join "Vikings" season 4.

"Toronto Blue Jays player Josh Donaldson has been cast in a guest star role on History Channel's 'Vikings.' The baseball star will play Hoskuld, a Viking warrior of great skill, in an episode that will air later this year as part of Season 4," Variety reported.

Donaldson joined the likes of Peter Franzen and Jasper Paakkonen who will also play the role of new Vikings warriors. Dianne Doan who will play Yidu also joined the cast.

Series creator Michael Hirst said Doan will play a "Chinese slave captured in the Red Sea."

"Vikings" season 4 is set to be released on Feb. 18.
