‘Star Trek’ Online Anniversary: Free Giveaways, Mini Series Announced For The Game’s 6th Year
Upcoming events and freebies for "Star Trek" Online were announced as part of the game's sixth anniversary.
Perfect World Entertainment Inc. and Cryptic Studios shared on "Star Trek" Online blog that loyal players are entitled to free giveaways this month as a way of thanking their loyal players on their anniversary.
Players will be able to receive giveaways by simply logging in to the game from Jan. 26 to Feb. 26. Accordingly, C-store items will be given out for free starting Tuesday 10am PST, Christian Post reported.
The game developer noted that free item or multiple items for Captains will be posted every 24 hours. All free C-store items will be updated here.
In addition, the popular Anniversary Event is back. The event kicks off on Jan. 28 and will last until Feb. 26.
Players will get invites to meet Earth Space Dock and First City. There will be a series of in-game missions and reward on the said event too.
One of these in-game missions include the all new episode "Time and Tide" where players can unlock a new plot that leads to the Temporal accords that took place hundreds of years ahead of the present time.
Players will also see the return of Omega Molecule Stabilization, according to Mpogd .
While in this mode, players can collect Omega particles that has been scattered across the galaxy by Q. When stabilized, these particles earn players sixth anniversary prize vouchers by playing mini-games in three different social zones throughout the game.
Also, players who have collected over 1,000 vouchers during "Star Trek" Online anniversary event may purchase Tier 6 Krenim Science Vessel using the said vouchers.
The game is a free-to-play MMORPG where players take on a mission as Captain of a Federation starship then become a Klingon Warrior and champion the Empire across the galaxy. Also, players may rebuild the Romulan legacy as the commander of a Romulan Republic Warbird, according to PerfectWorld.
