How Difficult Will Singing And Dancing Be For Emma Watson In ‘Beauty And The Beast?’ [VIDEO]
Fans will get to see Emma Watson turn into Belle for "Beauty And The Beast" soon but what new skill will she show for the new Disney film?
The British beauty already became a witch, a thief, a pregnant woman during the Great Flood movie, "Noah." A traumatized daughter, and a devoted wife in her recent films but the live action reboot of the fairy tale classic reportedly asked for something huge from her.
When she announced her casting for the Bill Condon-directed film, she revealed that she was incredibly excited to finally be able to play a role that she loved since childhood. However, she also shared some apprehensions before they started production on the film.
"I sing, so that's really unexpected," she previously told Total Film Magazine, as reported by The Telegraph. "I've never had to do that for a film role before, and I think people will be interested to see me do something very different like that. It gives me a different challenge, really. That's terrifying in and of itself!"
Despite her initial worry, "Beauty And The Beast" wasn't the first film to test Emma Watson's skills in singing and dancing.
The "Harry Potter" star already showed off her singing chops in various occasions in the past. According to a past article by Hypable, she reportedly lent her voice as a backing vocal for Ben Hammersley's "Pantomime."
Aside from that, her own raw voice was featured in "Noah" in a dramatic scene with Russell Crowe where she sang a teary lullaby for her twins.
As for her dancing, she already showed off that particular scene in various films and interviews.
Her character, Hermione, had a spontaneous but touching snippet with Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) in "Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1" when they slow danced to "O Children" by Nick Cave. Hermione also got to dance at the Yule Ball for "Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire."
Aside from the "Harry Potter" series, she also danced in "The Bling Ring" and "Ballet Shoes."
Nevertheless, "Beauty And The Beast" will be Emma Watson's biggest commercial film endeavor after the hugely successful "Harry Potter" series.
