Iggy Azalea's 'Fancy' Music Career Over? Record Label Rejects New 'Azillion' Music Video? Goes On Twitter Rant
Is the fancy Hollywood life over for Iggy Azalea?
The "Azillion" rapper recently announced that her record label rejected the music video for her new track.
On Wednesday night, Australian femal rapper, Iggy Azalea, best known for her songs, "Fancy" and "Problem" featuring Ariana Grande, recently took to Twitter to express her disappointment over her record label, Virgin EMI.
"Bad news update: My record label Virgin/EMI seems to feel the response to my viral record 'zillon' wasn't good enough & Im not allowed a video," Iggy Azalea wrote on Twitter.
Then, she called out Virgin EMI's president, writing: "I felt like it was dope so, whatever. Ted Cockle doesn't wanna see me shine. What can I say."
Azalea added that there were lots of things she could say about the issue but she chose to "keep it mildly professional."
The rapper then joked: "If all else fails ill just drive around LA and play my new album really loudly every monday from 4-6pm hahaha."
Does this mean Iggy Azalea's fancy music career is over?
The disapproval over Iggy Azalea's "Azilion" comes after the rapper drew criticism for her freestyle rap fails, which led people to saying that she was a poser, as well as accusations of racist and homophobic statements and alleged cultural appropriation.
"You just too damn afraid to engage in intelligent conversation about misappropriation of hip-hop," sang Madd Mary in her viral "Eff Iggy" diss video.
The "Fancy" rapper also developed a long history of Twitter feuds with rapper, Azealia Banks, Iggy Azalea's number one critic.
Once, during a radio interview, Azealia Banks accused Iggy Azalea of cultural appropriation or the taking or adoption of elements from one culture by someone who does not belong to that culture for personal gain (in this case, Iggy Azalea rapping for money and fame when she's not even Black).
"I feel like in this country, whenever it comes to our things, like black issues or black politics or black music or whatever, there's always this undercurrent of kinda like a 'f*ck you," Azealia Banks told Hot 97. "That Iggy Azalea sh*t isn't better than any f*cking black girl that's rapping today...The Grammys are supposed to be accolades of artistic excellence. Iggy Azalea is not excellent."
Banks' statement did not sit well with the "Fancy" rapper, who replied, "There are many black artists succeeding in all genres. The reason you haven't is because of your piss poor attitude...Your inability to be responsible for your own mistakes, bullying others, the inability to be humble or have self-control."
She added: "It's YOU! You created your own unfortunate situation by being a bigot and don't have the mental capacity to realize yet. Probably never will."
