[Watch Spoilers!] ‘Orange Is The New Black' Season 4 Trailer! Premiere Date Announced; ‘Pornstache’ Not Returning?
[Spoilers ahead!] Hit Netflix series, "Orange is the New Black" is yet to premiere its 4th season. The women of Litchfield Penitentiary will reportedly return June this year but without one of its most memorable characters?
According to Lohud, fresh episodes of "Orange is the New Black" season 4 will premiere on June 17, 2016 after about a year of filming. On Sunday, Netflix dropped a new trailer to promote the upcoming season. [Scroll down for video].
While this would definitely get "OITNB" fans psyched, some speculate that one of its characters may not be returning for season 4.
Police officer George Mendez, also dubbed as "Pornstache" may not be appearing in "Orange is the New Black" season 4. During season 2, Mendez was carted off to prison after authorities found out he had sex with inmate, Daya, who framed him so he would get fired.
Pornstache only appeared once in season 3, noticeably without his famous moustache, which had fans asking whether or not he will be returning for season 4. In the said episode, Pornstache is visited in prison by his mother, looking like a broken man (thanks to his absent moustache).
"I was very nervous to do that scene because, to me, the mustache was so important to who he was and I didn't want to take away his main feature, so I needed some convincing," actor Pablo Schreiber told Business Insider of doing the scene sans his famous 'stache.
Lauren Morelli, show writer, explained why they decided to remove his character's signature physical trait.
"Her reasoning was that we're never going to see Pornstache lower than this," Schreiber said. "This is his bottom and to see him in a place where he's incredibly vulnerable was a tool they wanted to use."
On the subject of whether or not Pornstache is returning for "Orange is the New Black" season 4, however, Pablo Schreiber is still uncertain.
"I can't tell you anything about whether he's coming back or not," he said. "As of now, he's in prison biding his time."
