Virtual music idol Hatsune Miku appeared on Japanese TV on Wednesday, performing on stage at Japanese music show Music Station, as stated on Anime News Network. The news of Hatsune Miku's appearance on Japanese TV has been confirmed in August as Music Station is celebrating their 30th anniversary with a 10-hour TV special.

Aside from Hatsune Miku's appearance on Japanese TV, other notable musical acts appeared in the TV special as well such as Hey! Say! JUMP, AKB48 and SEKAI NO OWARI. Hatsune Miku's appearance on Japanese TV also marks her first appearance in Music Station.

International acts also appeared on the said music show such as Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, Bruno Mars, Aerosmith and Steve Wonder. For Hatsune Miku's appearance on Japanese TV show, she performed the song "Senbonzakura," appearing on the scene during Music Station's Ultra FES event as reported by said source.

Hatsune Miku's appearance in Japanese TV has been decided from a result of special questionnaire sent to random 10,000 people for the program to select the top 100 current songs in Japan, in celebration of Music Station's 30 years of broadcast.

Referring to quick information from Crypton's official website, Hatsune Miku is a humanoid character voiced by a singing synthesizer application Vocaloid, portrayed as a 16-year old girl sporting long turquoise twin tails. Her name means "the first sound from the future." After all, her voice has been featured in over 100,000 songs released worldwide by both amateurs and professional Vocaloid producers.

Crypton released Hatsune Miku as the first of their character vocal series applications in August 2007, promoting her as an android diva in a near-future world where songs are lost. Since her "debut," the now iconic software mascot has over 170,000 YouTube videos, over 1 million artworks and performed at sold-out 3D concerts worldwide, touring in Los Angeles, Taipei, Hong Kong, Singapore, and of course Tokyo.
