MacBook Pro 2016 Rumors Hint At Longer Battery Life, Skylake Chips; Release Date Set In June?
MacBook Pro 2016 rumors are now swirling thick and fast in cyberspace, as Apple decides on an official release date for the highly-anticipated model.
This year may in fact turn out to be a banner year for Apple, as there are speculations that the company will roll out its next generation laptop by June of this year, according to Gotta Be Mobile.
There might even be a chance that the big reveal will be made by Apple during the June 13 Keynote wherein the company is set to announce the roll out of iOS 10 and OS X 10.12.
This is certainly good news for Apple's legion of loyal followers, as it was in early 2015 when the MacBook Pro received its last update.
So what can we expect from the MacBook Pro 2016 aside from the rumors circulating regarding its scheduled release date?
First, there is a possibility that the 2016 MacBook Pro will have Intel's 6th-generation Skylake processors, replacing the 5th-generation Broadwell chips that are currently in the 13-inch MacBook.
Second, there is a chance that the 13-inch MacBook Pro's processing speed would be bumped up from its current 2.7GHz entry-level processor to 2.8GHz or 2.9GHz for the same entry level price of $1,299.
Third, rumors suggest that the MacBook Pro 2016 might still have the same RAM - 8GB for its 13-in model and 16 GB for its 15-inch variant, as Apple just recently doubled the RAM capacity of the device.
Fourth, the latest MacBook Pro will likely be equipped with at least two USB C ports, although it is still uncertain whether they will replace the Thunderbolt or 3.0 ports used on the current models.
Moreover, Macworld revealed that the MacBook Pro 2016 with Retina Display should be able to provide users with 10 hours of battery life for its 13-inch model and 8 hours for its 15-in variant.
Aided by the new Skylake processors and other energy saving enhancements, the laptop's battery life is expected to be longer as compared to its predecessor.
If the current MacBook Pro 2016 rumors prove to be true, Apple may have another sure winner, as the company gears up for its final release date.
