The awards ceremony for the 2015 Emmys is over, but, opinions still go out and about the winners. Emmys 2015 outstanding lead actress winner, Viola Davis, openly discusses her uniquely surprising victory.

The "How To Get Away With Murder" actress was not shy in vouching for the influence of minorities in Hollywood. Davis motivated the public to not give up on their dreams in the entertainment industry. The actress state the difference of the existence and non-existence of opportunities in the entertainment industry.

As Variety reported, Davis said in her speech at the Microsoft Theater on Sunday:

"The only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is simply opportunity. You cannot win an Emmy for roles that are simply not there."

She adds, "So here's to all the writers, the awesome people - people who have redefined what it means to be beautiful, to be sexy, to be a leading woman, to be black."

"None of us get respect or opportunity we deserve. Emmys not venue 4 racial opportunity. ALL women belittled."

Not everybody was impressed with Viola's achievement, though. "General Hospital" actress, Nancy Lee Grahn, dashed the winner's pride. As reported in CNN, Grahn tweeted:

"I wish I loved #ViolaDavis Speech, but I thought she should have let @shondarhimes write it,"

Grahn, however, made amends by taking back what she said. She even attempted to make Davis feel better. She tweeted a message of compliment for Davis, referring to the latter as a veteran who exemplifies on screen in the role she plays.

The Emmys 2015 was held in Los Angeles at The Microsoft Theater on Sept. 20, 2015. It was seen coast to coast on TV on Fox. "Saturday Night Live" star, Andy Samberg, was host of the star-studded ceremony.
