J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has been all the buzz since it premiered in December last year, and it looks like it isn't slowing down anytime soon. According to recent reports, Kylo Ren's Lightsaber in the movie will bridge the seventh installment to the "Star Wars: Old Republic" video games.

Although Lucasfilm has previously stated that the seventh film won't be related to the Expanded Universe stories, Eurogamer alleges that the origins of Kylo Ren's Lightsaber can be traced back to "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2" and to its main character, Revan.

The publication claims that a link can be found in the Visual Dictionary released to accompany "The Force Awakens."

The book indicates that Kylo Ren's Lightsaber is built from "an ancient design, dating back thousands of years to the Great Scourge of Malachor."

Eurogamer claims that it's the first time they've heard about The Great Scourge of Malachor, but they're certain that it can be linked to a specific event where Revan uses the Mass Shadow Generator above the planet Malachor 5.

"The Mass Shadow Generator was a superweapon Revan used to bring about an end to the Mandalorian Wars, creating an immense gravitational vortex that sucked the planet and armies above it into ruin, and ripping all asunder," reads their report. "What was left was a planet - Malachor 5 - in pieces, held together by gravitational anomalies."

Furthermore, a quick search on Google will reveal that Kylo Ren costume bears a great resemblance to Revan, although it could just be a coincidence.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is the latest installment to George Lucas' long-running space opera. It stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong'O, Domnhall Gleeson, Max Von Sydow and Andy Serkis.
