Jamie Foxx becomes a savior

Remember when Jamie Foxx called President Barack Obama "Our Lord and Savior?" Well, this time around, the "Spider-Man 2" actor becomes just that - well, just the "savior" part, anyway - after saving a man from a car wreck. Is it a form of redemption after that bad Golden Globes 2016 joke directed at Denzel Washington?

According to reports, Jamie Foxx pulled a man from his car seat after the car overturned in front of the Oscar-winning actor's home in Hidden Valley, Los Angeles.

According to TMZ, the car hydroplaned on a wet road, crashed in a ditch and overturned.

After hearing the crash, Jamie Foxx reportedly called the California Highway Patrol, went on the scene of the accident, unbuckled the man's seat belt and dragged him away from the car for fear that it would explode, The L.A. Times reported.

"Jamie didn't hesitate. He jumped out and ran to the car," Jamie Foxx's rep told ABC News.

The man in the car identified as Brett Kyle, 38 years old, was allegedly driving under the influence when the accident took place, Monday night, Jan. 18.

After news of Jamie Foxx's heroic act broke, people have dubbed the actor as a "savior" and a "hero."

"I'm not a hero," Jamie Foxx told ABC News, "but had to do something."

On Tuesday night, Jamie Foxx posted a photo of himself with the father of Brett Kyle.

"Met the father of the young man from last night today," the actor wrote on Instagram. "This is all that matters. That a man, a son, a brother's life was spared last night. God had his arms wrapped around all of us...No heroes...Just happy fathers."

The accident came after the Golden Globes 2016, where Jamie Foxx made a bleak joke towards actor Denzel Washington, prompting an awkward meme-worthy cringe to match Leonardo DiCaprio's reaction to Lady Gaga winning during the same night.
"Thank you, Will. Thank you, Denzel, for letting me borrow the goatee," Jamie Foxx joked on stage as he co-presented the Cecil B. DeMille award with actress Lily James.

"This is our first time, our first time meeting," Foxx joked of Denzel Washington, who was to receive the Cecil B. DeMille award. "People that know what I'm talking about, know what I'm talking about."
