Allison Williams Now Officially Married to CollegeHumor Co-Founder; Details Released!
Its official: "Girls" actress Allison Williams is now married!
The rep of 27-year-old comedian, actress and singer confirmed that she had gotten married on Saturday, September 19 to Ricky Van Veen, 34, entrepreneur and co-founder of popular comedy website CollegeHumor. The private wedding ceremony took place at Brush Creek Ranch in Saratoga, Wyoming, with fellow actor Tom Hanks officiated the ceremony.
Ricky and Allison's wedding guests include her fellow Girls co-stars Lena Dunham, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet and friends John Mayer, Barry Diler, Diane von Furstenberg, Bruce Springsteen and even pop singer Katy Perry. Around 150-200 guests attended the nuptials, composed of family and close friends according to People magazine.
The bride wore a stunning, floor-length lace wedding dress by Oscar de la Renta, which was designed by its new creative director Peter Copping. Allison Williams is the second bride to wear Copping's design for the high fashion company, with Haifa Snobar being his first client. The rustic elegance of her dress compliments the fall wedding season very well, Vogue magazine added.
The now Mr. and Mrs. Van Veen met each other through mutual friends. They have been dating since 2011 and got engaged in 2014. The actress previously postponed her wedding plans when her father, former NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams, was suspended in February due to his false statements about his coverage of the 2003 US invasion of Iraq.
Mr. Williams, on the other hand, took a break from his schedule and walked his daughter to her wedding. He will soon be engaged in covering the papal visit of Pope Francis in the US this week.
The guests sent well-wishes to the couple after the ceremony. Mindy Kaling posted in her Instagram account a photo shared with Allison. Meanwhile, fellow co-star Dunham wore a red dress with a matching floral headband in the ceremony.
