EXO has once again won the Grand Prize at the 25th Seoul Music Awards Thursday, making them the first Korean pop act to win the Daesang or the highest honor from the music festival for three successive years since 2014, as per Korea Joongang Daily Saturday.

According to reports, few Korean artists have nabbed the highest honor twice in a row. These include Seo Taiji and The Boys (1992-1993), H.O.T. (1999-2000), Jo Sung Mo (1999-2000) and Girls' Generation (2010-2011), as noted by Allkpop Thursday.

Aside from winning their third Daesang, the boy band also nabbed Bonsang or the Main Prize and the Special Hallyu Award. EXO has been garnering three awards for three years running at the Seoul Music Awards.

In 2014, the band won the Grand Prize, Digital Album Prize and the Main Prize, while in 2015, the band nabbed the Grand Prize, Main Prize and the Popularity Award.

All members of the group, except Lay, were present and went on stage to receive their awards. Speaking on behalf of the group, Suho and Kai expressed their gratitude for winning the Grand Prize three years in a row.

"Thank you for the Daesang award three years in a row. EXO-L's, thank you so much," Suho said.

"I'm thankful that we earned such a great award on my birthday. I want to thank all our fans. Thank you to my parents who helped me earn this kind of award," said Kai, who is also celebrating his birthday on the same day.

Meanwhile, 12 Korean artists received the Main Prize this year, including BigBang, Yoon Mi Rae, Bangtan Boys, Taeyeon, SHINee, Sistar, A-Pink, EXID, Red Velvet, VIXX and Zion T. On the other hand, three bands were given with the New Artist Award including Seventeen, iKON and Girlfriend.

BigBang's "Bang Bang Bang" garnered the Song of the Year award, while BoA's album "Kiss My Lips" won the Best Album of the Year award.
