Pokemon Corocoro Leaks: Volcanion Revealed; Pokken Tournament Adds Three More Playable Characters

CoroCoro Magazine revealed the first ever fire/water-type Pokémon Volcanion from their leaks. Along with its forthcoming 20th anniversary, Pokken Tournament will play a major role in that as it finally comes to Wii U in a few months.
As reported by Nintendo Insider, CoroCoro confirmed the leaks that Volcanion will appear with Zygarde in the upcoming "Pokemon The Movie XY&Z," which is scheduled for release in Japan on July 16.
According to Pokemonrubysapphire, Volcanion was characterized as a Steam Pokemon and is the final PokéDex addition to Gen VI.
"It uses fire and water to create steam within its body, expelling explosive shock waves and boiling steam from the arms on its back," the site stated.
"Volcanion is said to possess incredible strength as it can literally move mountains gouging out the earth and changing the shape of the land."
Game Rant added that Volcanion has the Water Absorb ability enabling it to recover 25% of its health when hit by water-type attacks. Also, it is resistant to steel, ice, fire, fairy and bug type attacks. However, its weakness comes from electric, ground and rock attacks.
Volcanion was revealed by CoroCoro leaks from the previous month for its January 2016 issue.
It was previously revealed that a new fighter will come for the game on the 15th. However, the leak from Corocoro, ehich has been translated by Serebii, suggests that it will not be just one fighter, but three.
The three new fighters added to the list of playable roster are the regular version of Mewtwo, Braixen and Garchomp. It was previously revealed that a special Shadow Mewtwo was coming in the game.
Braixen, on the other hand, comes from Pokemon's latest generation, evolving from fire-type Fennekin. Garchomp is from the fourth generation. It has even been revealed that it has his Mega Garchomp form that can be used via one of its attacks.
When CoroCoro leaks were revealed, the site pointed out that Volcanion's story can be found in the official website for Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. So far, the Pokken Tournament specific release date has not yet confirmed. Hopefully, we'll get some notices from Nintendo Direct in the near future.
