'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7 Spoilers: Synopsis Revealed; Crossover Episode With 'The Originals' To Happen
"The Vampire Diaries" will finally be back with its season 7. The Salvatore brothers, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley), were both left in a dreadful situation on its mid-season finale. The two were both stabbed with the Phoenix Stone sword and were turned into stone to experience their own personal hell. Now that the show is returning, what's in store for the Salvatore brothers? The upcoming season will most likely be centered on Damon's Phoenix Stone torment and his struggles in the battlefield during Civil War, according to a synopsis by Spoiler TV.
"Damon awakens to find himself trapped inside the Phoenix Stone, tormented by a traumatic experience from his time in the Civil War and forced to face his darkest demon in order to get out," the episode 10 revealed.
According to "The Vampire Diaries" executive producer Caroline Dries, the audience are to expect Damon stuck in the Stone for at least most of the midseason premiere, entitled"Hell Is Other People."
"The episode plunges the audience head first into a not-so-typical Damon mess. It's a grueling, frustrating, at times even a little hilarious examination of one of our favorite and most damaged characters," Dries told Entertainment Weekly.
"Turns out that in the murk of Damon Salvatore's psyche, redemption isn't easy to find."
The synopsis also warned the audience that, "On the outside, Bonnie (Kat Graham) is in a race against the clock to get Damon out before the effects of the Phoenix Stone take over and leave him changed forever."
Meanwhile, Melty revealed some goodies for "The Vampire Diaries" fans! The show will feature a crossover episode with its sister series "The Originals" this season. Showrunner Julie Plec revealed that viewers can expect Stefan head down to New Orleans to reunite with Klaus, reported TV Line.
"Stefan finds himself very much in need of a mystical safe haven. And as we've seen on The Originals, there is a bar called The St. James Infirmary, in which no magic can permeate. So he goes to see refuge in New Orleans and comes face-to-face with Klaus Mikaelson because, of course, nothing happens in Klaus' town without Klaus knowing. I call it the reunion of the Bourbon buddies," Plec said.
