Dante's Inferno Connects All 'American Horror Story' Seasons: Season 6 Spoilers Leaked?
It has been nearly two years since Ryan Murphy revealed that all "American Horror Story" seasons are connected. Not long after disclosing a surprising fact about the hit anthology horror television series, there have been various explanations trying to figure out on how the plotlines from one season to the other are connected.
In most accounts, certain characters from one season to the other have since been linked but none of them have completely given the right answers to the "whys" and "hows" of the viewers. However, a new report claimed that a certain popular theory manages to connect all of the seasons in one strike.
According to TV Guide, the theory which fans termed as "The Dante's Inferno Theory" is a modern take on Dante's Inferno, the first phase of Italian writer Dante Alighieri's classic 14th century epic poem "Divine Comedy," that tells a story Dante's journey through hell.
In the story, Hell is depicted as the nine circles of suffering and each is named after a sin. The nine circles are namely Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Anger, Heresy, Violence, Fraud, and Treachery.
As noted on the theory, "American Horror Story" show creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk made each season a depiction of each circle. The theory explains how the plots from each season correlate to Dante Inferno's nine circles of Hell.
"Murder House" represents Lust, "Asylum" depicts Fraud, "Coven" to Treachery, "Freak Show" depicts Greed and "Hotel" represents Gluttony. This fuelled speculations that the new plot "American Horror Story" season 6 would be drawn from one of the remaining circles Limbo, Heresy, Violence and Anger.
"With the sixth instalment coming next year, American Horror Story has unquestionably joined the ranks of television's landmark series." said FX CEO John Landgraf, who confirmed the renewal of the series for its sixth instalment.
"American Horror Story" season 6 airs every Wednesdays at 10 p.m on FX.
