South Korean skeleton racer Yun Sung Bin finished strong at the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) World Cup after securing the silver medal Saturday. Korea Joongang Daily reported Monday that the 21-year-old racer has a combined time of 1 minute and 48.76 seconds after finishing two races.

Yun recorded 53.99 seconds and 54.77 seconds for his first and second races in Lake Placid, New York, giving him his first silver medal this 2015-16 season and his second since he started his career as a skeleton racer.

Reports revealed that the South Korea first won a silver medal during last season's World Cup event held in St. Moritz, Switzerland.

Yun's record Saturday was so far his best for this season after winning a bronze medal at the third World Cup in December.

He started skeleton racing in 2012 at the age of 18. After just three months of training, Yun won the national championship in September. He appeared in 2012-2013 season at the North American Cup Tour, which was his international debut.

His career took off in the 2013-2014 season when he landed fifth overall at the 2013-14 IBSF Intercontinental Cup Tour.

Meanwhile, Martins Dukurs from Latvia topped the fourth World Cup in Lake Placid, garnering his fourth win. Dukurs clocked 1 minute and 48.28 seconds after finishing two races, as reported by Sun Herald Saturday.

His brother, Tomass Dukurs, finished third with a combined time of 1 minute and 49.13 seconds, while German Axel Jungk landed on the fourth spot. He was followed by American skeleton racers Matt Antoine and Kyle Brown who placed fifth and sixth, respectively.

"I think I'm definitely moving in the right direction even though I'm a little behind," Antoine said. "The best I can do is improving on what I have right now and keep building. Despite this not being the result I wanted, I can honestly say this is the first week in over a year that I've had fun sliding."
