'Sailor Moon Crystal' Mourns David Bowie Amidst Season 3 Premiere Date News
The creators of "Sailor Moon Crystal" added their voices to the millions of fans who mourned the death of David Bowie as the premiere date for season 3 has been confirmed.
A statement published on the official Facebook post of "Sailor Moon Crystal" read, "This morning, we mourn the loss of an incredible musician and artist. David Bowie was, personally, my favorite artist and inspired my life in so many ways. I am deeply and profoundly sad by his passing, and grateful for his life.
"Though it may not be 100% Sailor Moon related, he did inspire the concept and design of a minor villain in Sailor Moon anime! His influence was widely spread and can be seen almost anywhere you look.
"Rest in peace, bluebird. -Neptune"
Fan Dylan Palmer commented, "Bowie's influence is all over Kunihiko Ikuhara's work. Sailor Moon would look very different if this man hadn't existed."
Mark Laurita Jr. added, "I kind of feel like a lot of anime villains were based on David Bowie."
The world mourned the death of David Bowie, who expired from cancer at the age of 69.
"The singer, who had been living in New York in recent years, released his latest album Blackstar only last Friday, his birthday," said BBC. "The album has been well received by critics and was intended as a "parting gift" to the world, according to long-time friend and producer Tony Visconti."
Meanwhile, Movie Pilot reported that the premiere for "Sailor Moon Crystal" has been revealed for 2016 although no specific date was revealed.
But the Daily Fandom was more specific about the premiere date as it claimed that "Sailor Moon Crystal" will be out in spring.
"This new season will have new director Chiaki Kon (Junjō Romantica) and character designer Akira Takahashi (Dokidoki! Precure). The rest of the crew and crew will remain the same," it said. "The third season will focus on the Death Busters arc and will be assembling all 10 Senshi, adapting the arc from the fifth and sixth volumes of Naoko Takeuchi's manga."
