Channing Tatum almost stole the spotlight from his wife, actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum, at the Golden Globes 2016 for sporting what seemed like a weird haircut. But the "Magic Mike" actor is going around on that hair while filming for his upcoming role as the card-tossing Cajun, Gambit.

A Twitter fansite shared a close-up of Channing Tatum's hair, which sent the Internet abuzz. The caption read, "Gambit hair!!! @channingtatum #GoldenGlobes."

The NY Daily News rounded up some of the wittiest comments regarding Channing Tatum's hair for the role of Gambit.

Mikylo Ren tweeted, "Channing Tatum's hair is nominated for Best Comedy."

MJ Caan took the hair as a portent of how bad the "X-Men" spinoff would be. He wrote, "And if Channing Tatum's hair is an indication of what we have to look forward to with #Gambit, I'll pass."

Brandon Matsalia added, "Channing Tatum out there looking like Peter Parker in Spider-Man 3. Hope that ain't the Gambit look #GoldenGlobes."

The "Magic Mike" star's hair was compared to Stefon from Saturday Night Live and the Creepy Thin Man from "Charlie's Angels," reported Huffington Post.

According to Cosmic Book News, production for "Gambit" was pushed to March of this year.

"Tatum will play the card-tossing mutant, Remy LeBeau (Gambit), whose family come from a guild of thieves," it said. "He's a master-thief capable of stealing your wallet and your heart with his endless charm. Lea Seydoux (Spectre) is playing Belladonna Boudreaux, a childhood friend of Remy's in the comic whose family belongs to a rival guild of assassins. To unite the guilds, a marriage is arranged between the two."

"Gambit" is being directed by Doug Liman for an Oct. 7, 2016 release. The script is written by Josh Zemuter, based on a treatment by Chris Claremont. Channing Tatum, Reid Carolin, Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg are producing.

However, recent news claimed that the release date of "Gambit" might be delayed until next year. That should give plenty of time for fans to get used to Channing Tatum's hair in playing the mutant.
