Sean Penn's name is making a loud buzz the past few days but not in a good way. The actor is now being linked to Mexican drug kingpin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman who has been recaptured by local authorities six months after he escaped from Federal Social Readaptation Center No. 1, which is described as a maximum security prison.

According to reports, Penn and Kate del Castillo secretly met with the man popularly known as El Chapo for a Rolling Stone interview. Now, police wants to have a sit down with him to know specific details about their meeting, CNN reported.

Sean Penn allegedly met El Chapo in October where they talked about the latter's life ever since his seven-hour escape. The meeting is said to be for the Mexican drug lord's biopic and he wanted to get involved as much as he can in the project.

Reportedly, he also wanted to meet Hollywood producers and other actors to talk about the possible film about his life.

The article Sean Penn wrote has been published in the Rolling Stone website and he said he only said yes to the invitation because El Chapo's trust is not to be screwed up.

"The trust that El Chapo had extended to us was not to be f---ed with," Penn noted in the Rolling Stone article. "This will be the first interview El Chapo had ever granted outside an interrogation room, leaving me no precedent by which to measure the hazards. ... "

"I took some comfort in a unique aspect of El Chapo's reputation among the heads of drug cartels in Mexico: that, unlike many of his counterparts who engage in gratuitous kidnapping and murder, El Chapo is a businessman first, and only resorts to violence when he deems it advantageous to himself or his business interests," he added.

The Sean Penn - El Chapo meeting also tackled the reason why the Mexican kingpin resorted to crime as well as how his life was when he was younger.

The Associated Press said the Sean Penn - El Chapo meeting is what helped authorities track down the notorious drug kingpin.
