One Direction's "Made In the AM" album was seemingly dissed by Zayn Malik. The pop star opened up in his interview with Billboard, wherein he seemed to be bitter with his former bandmates.

Zayn Malik was asked about his ex-group's fifth album that was released after his untimely resignation.

"I'll be honest," he said. "I thought the first single was quite cool. I heard the second single."

"I didn't buy the album," Zayn Malik added while supposedly making a face.

Even though the former member of One Direction was frank about "Made In the AM," Zayn Malik admitted that being part of the said boyband was able to teach him a lot.

"Status," he replied when asked about what he earned from 1D. "The capability to restrain certain things I would want to do. I've [also become] incredibly disciplined."

"I realized I can push myself through situations I might not necessarily want to do, but can overcome by being in the moment," he added.

Malik also hinted about staying friends with former bandmates, namely Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson.

"I also learned it's good to keep friends," he said. "You don't know when you're going to make new ones, so you should probably just keep the old ones."

Even though fans were caught offguard by his departure, the group's mentor, Simon Cowell told Celebrity Yahoo that he somewhat expected the group's bad boy to leave.

"They were 100% overworked," the former "X-Factor" judge said. "Even though they were young, that was a grueling schedule and after a while I could see they were exhausted, so when they asked how I felt about it, I said for them to do whatever they want."

With the current hiatus of the group, Simon Cowell confessed that he is somewhat unsure if the group will eventually end up disbanding for good.

"I don't know if they're definitely going to split up to be honest with you," he said. "I've known for a while that they were going to take 2016 off, and they had to on their workload."

"As I've always done with the guys, I said, 'Make your own decisions," he explained. "I hope you stay together, but you've got to want to do it for yourselves.'"

Until present, no statement from any of the One Direction boys has been released about Zayn's reaction to "Made in the AM."
