Sony Xperia Z5 And Z5 Premium Specs, Review; Xperia Z6 Lite In Works?

Last year was the debut of Sony's Xperia Z5 lineup, which includes Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact, and Z5 Premium. Sony launched the current flagship devices in UK, following a subsequent launching date for the rest of the world.

As previously reported by Inquirer, Xperia Z5 Compact priced at £429 and the Xperia Z5 at £549 was made available to the UK market in October 2015. While Xperia Z5 premium, the most expensive among the Z5 lineup priced at £629, was launched a month after.

The release date for the US market remains uncertain after the UK launch of Xperia Z5 series did not gained the response it expected. Gadget experts believed that due to its overheating issues, Sony's latest flagship handsets, dubbed as Samsung Galaxy S6's competitor, could not stand the required market share.

Sony's Xperia series was known for its water-resistant feature. However, some users believed that it's a little bit pricey.

PC Advisor stated that Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact, and Z5 Premium bear a microSD card slot expandable to 200 GB. Thus, this improved feature will coincide with Sony, being a world leader in music devices, for bigger multimedia consumption.

Reportedly, the most exciting feature the Xperia Z5 series has to offer is the Z5's PlayStation connectivity. This will enable the user to remotely play games on PS4 from their hand-held Xperia Z5.

Meanwhile, after the success of Xperia Z5 line launch, rumors and speculations for Sony Xperia Z6's release date continue to surface online.

According to Mobile Dad, Z6 Lite, a new Z6 version, will be a part of the upcoming flagship series. The new Z6 line will be sporting a five-inch display and will be available in a black, metal-panel cover.

Xperia Z6 Lite will also be running under the SnapDragon hxa-core, formerly known as SnapDragon 618. Speculations also include that the device will be priced at $385 upon its release date along with other Z6 devices.

Phone Arena revealed that the Xperia Z6 lineup will include different models namely Xperia Z6, Z6 Compact, Z6 Mini and Z6 Ultra. In a later report, the site added that the mini version might be crashed out on the list of the new series.

Although the year 2015 has been quite uneventful for Sony after Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact, and Z5 Premium sales went off, the company is looking forward to possibly catch things up in 2016.
