'Avengers: Infinity War' Cast To Highlight Black Panther? Part 1 To Be Shot All In IMAX?
Marvel's "Black Panther" will play a pivotal role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's overall narrative and will set the stage for the cast of "Avengers: Infinity Wars Part 1."
T'Challa, aka Black Panther, who makes his debut in "Captain America: Civil War" in May, is already believed to be the hero to come between the brewing conflict of "Avengers" members Iron Man and Captain Americain in the upcoming crossover film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the prince of Wakanda's solo film in 2018 will play an even bigger role leading to "Avengers: Infinity War Part 1."
"This one is important," said Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige in Empire Magazine's 2016 preview issue. "Not only do you get an unbelievable lead character, but you also get all of [fictional African nation] Wakanda which is a whole new setting and culture to explore."
Marvel is keeping "Black Panther's" plot closely under lock and key, but Feige said that the film will be "a big geopolitical action adventure that focuses on the family and royal struggle of T'Challa in Wakanda, and what it means to be a king."
"T'Challa's story is very important to us as it links to the next 'Avengers' films, which is why we brought it forward," he added.
"Black Panther's" previously announced November 2017 release date has been rescheduled twice already due to "Spider-Man's" transfer from Sony to Marvel. "Black Panther" will be out on Feb. 16, 2018, followed by "Avengers: Infinity Part 1" on May 4, the same year.
How Black Panther ties into the cast of "Avengers: Infinity War Part 1" will likely remain a mystery until its release in 2018, but it's noteworthy to mention that several Infinity Stones have yet to be revealed ahead of the first "Infinity War" film, and Black Panther might discover one of them in his solo film. Until then, fans will have to wait until Marvel releases the movie's official plot.
