Manny Pacquiao Says Something Unexpected About Floyd Mayweather Jr; 'Pacman' Asks For Rematch

The Manny Pacquiao - Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight rematch might still happen. At least that's what the Filipino fighter aspires.

Pacman, who is set to fight Timothy Bradley on April, says he wants to end his career with a bang and that is by avenging his loss to Floyd Mayweather, Jr. in May 2 last year.

"I have been very vocal about it (fighting Mayweather) even before the Bradley fight was made official on New Year's Eve," Pacquiao told philboxing.com. "The reason is simple; I want to end my 21-year boxing career with a big bang."

The two traded barbs in the past months with the undefeated Money saying Pacman is just using his name to sell his upcoming fight. Things have changed from Pacquiao's camp though as in his latest interview, he finally recognized that the last man who beat him is the "finest" of this generation.

"What would be the biggest fight to end a career than fighting the best and finest boxer at least in this era?" Pacquiao said. "We could have given that last May when we faced each other but due to unavoidable circumstances, sports fans failed to get the results they wanted."

The first Manny Pacquiao - Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight was dubbed as the "Fight of the Century" and broke the record in PPV and profit. Some fans did not like the way the fight turned out though as they thought it was underwhelming for a match sold as the greatest and grandest of the era.

Pacquiao previously claimed via a boxingjunkie.com report that his April fight will be the last of his illustrated career. It was said that he will drop his job as a boxer to run as senator in his country. However, that seems to be not the case anymore as even his promoter and Top Rank CEO Bob Arum has doubts as to his retirement after his fight with Timothy Bradley.

"I ain't going to sell it as his last fight because six months later, if he decides to fight again, I'm going to look like a [expletive] huckster," Arum told Yahoo Sports. "It could be his last fight, but I've been in this business for 50 years, and I've learned not to believe any of these guys when they say it's their last fight.

He also said that this third installment of Pacquiao-Bradley will be better than the first two.

"So we're going to promote this as the fight with a different Timothy Bradley," he said. "Bradley was a different fighter in the fight with Rios. He had a different style, a different game plan and he performed differently."

"If he'd have stayed with Joel Diaz and we'd put him in with Pacquiao a third time, the criticism of this fight would no doubt be justified. But he's a different guy under Atlas," the promoter shared.

"Does being with Atlas change him enough to make him more competitive with Pacqiuao? I think yes, but we'll have to see."
