The action adventure anime series "Sword Art Online" is rumored to have delayed its third season's release date due to some major reasons, according to Yibada.

The anime series is based on the light novels written by Reki Kawahara. The author recently expressed his interest that he is looking forward in developing an anime version of "Sword Art Online: Alicization Arc."

The Inquisitr reported that Reki has always been involved with all the adaptations of his novel, be it anime version or video games like "Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization."

Kawahara keeps on making changes to his written stories and this is assumed to be the probable reason for a delay in the third season of "Sword Art Online."

Reki is also involved in weekly script meetings with recording sessions for the anime series, so that it is ensured that voice artists pronounce all the jargon's correctly.

The speculations suggest that the release date for "Sword Art Online: Alicization Arc" has been pushed forward as Reki is busy with giving a new angle to the storyline for the anime series.

It is rumored that Kawahara is writing a prequel to the Alicization story arc and has not yet worked on the possible ending narrative for the anime series, reported China Topix.

The When-Will reported that according to the spoilers, Reki will also write a possible prequel for another light novel from the "Sword Art Online" series titled, "Progressive," which is also rumored to be a major reason for the delay in the third season of the anime series.

The "Sword Art Online: Progressive" is rumored to be a remake of the whole original storyline.

The producer of the anime series, Shinichiro Kashiwada recently expressed his desire to first release the "Sword Art Online: Alicization Arc" version of the anime instead of the "Progressive" anime.

"Well, I can't share right now what we might actually be discussing," said Shinichiro, reported Anime News Network. "The Progressive novels are building on a completed story. Personally I would like to see the Alicization arc because that's something that hasn't been ever done."

The rumors suggest that the release date of third season has been pushed forward to summer 2016, as Reki is busy with his writings.
