"Borat" star Sacha Baron Cohen and his wife Isla Fisher made a generous donation in the amount of $1 million to Syrian refugees.

Sacha Baron Cohen and his wife Isla Fisher gave $1 million to "Save the Children" initiative and the "International Rescue Committee," which are involved in helping children affected by Syrian conflict, according to Chicago Tribune.

"Save the Children" announced they will be spending half of the amount to vaccinate 250,000 children in Northern Syria, who are at potential risk of measles outbreak. The other part of the donation will be used for the welfare of women and children in Syria and nearby countries by providing education, healthcare facilities, sanitation and shelter.

"[One part of donation will be] used to help fund the work to support families, with a special concern for women and children, both inside Syria and in neighboring countries who are suffering as a result of the ongoing conflict," noted "Save the Children," per a report by Esquire.

The 44-year-old star Sacha Baron Cohen was the star of movies like "The Dictator" and "Borat" while Isla Fisher is best known for her roles in Netflix comedy series "Arrested Development," and "Confessions of a Shopaholic."

"By allowing us to make their generous donation to Syrian children public, Sacha and Isla are helping highlight the tragedy of the issue today," said Justin Forsyth, CEO of Save the Children.

"These are desperate times for Syrian families facing bombs, bullets and torture in Syria. The couple's donation will save many thousands of lives and protect some of the most vulnerable children," he added.

Sacha Baron Cohen and his wife Isla Fisher has set a good example for other celebrities by contributing a huge sum of money for a good cause. The couple reportedly made the donation during "The Sunday Times" Christmas appeal to help children.
