'Destiny: The Taken King' News: Iron Banner Event Returns
Bungie rolled out the "Destiny: The Taken King" final 2015 PvP event on Tuesday. The Iron Banner, a special player versus player event, has returned to the franchise with a gear set exclusively available for owners of Sony's PlayStation.
In a post at Sony's official blog, Bungie's community manager David Dague, mostly known in the community as DeeJ, wrote a short message to all Guardians of PlayStation.
"DeeJ from Bungie here, with some important news for all Crucible warriors. Iron Banner returns today," Dague wrote on a December 29 post.
"When Lord Saladin appears in the Tower, he'll have something extra to entice you to join the battle. On PlayStation, champions of the competitive event will have a chance to earn an exclusive gear set."
The PlayStation-exclusive gear set was a part of Bungie and Sony's agreement to offer to PlayStation gamers with an exclusive content. On the other hand, non-PlayStation gamers will be able to receive their own armor sets namely Titan class, the Hunter class, and the Warlock class gear set. These armor sets will feature helmets, leg armor, as well as class items.
Bungie previously announced on their official website that the Iron Banner event of "Destiny: The Taken King" will go back to its original gameplay. The Iron Banner event will require Destiny players to receive awards from Lord Saladin by winning matches and ranking up. Rewards may also be attained via loot drops at the end of each finished match.
The recently released update by Bungie made "Destiny: The Taken King" very interesting, according to Game Zone. The update gave a lot of new features and weapons who have higher attack range and damage to the game. Above all, the armors are set with higher defense ratings to resist more damage.
Guardians who took part on the Iron Event within the Destiny will only be the ones to unlock the exclusive set of gear for PlayStation gamers.
The Iron Banner event for "Destiny: The Taken King" will start on Jan. 5.
