Marvel's 'Daredevil' Season 2 Release Date Set In March 2016?
"Daredevil" season 2's release date is reportedly set in March 2016.
In 2015, "Daredevil" finally got a praise-worthy screen adaptation after Ben Affleck's critically thumbed down theatrical portrayal of The Man Without Fear in 2003. Marvel's "Daredevil" season 1 was hailed as one of the year's best series' and a "game changer" for comic book TV shows, according to Screen Rant. Its success spawned several two other shows - Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, both of which will eventually tie into Daredevil.
While "Daredevil" season 2 has been confirmed for quite some time, fans are still waiting on the official release date. The first season debuted in April of 2015, which led to speculations that it would release in April this year. Apparently, the follow-up season's release date may come sooner than expected.
Entertainment Weekly published a sizable amount of "Daredevil" news in their 2016 preview issue. According to Comic Book, EW noted that "Daredevil" season 2's release date is set in March 2016. Additionally, the article states that production for season 2 is about to wrap up, which would make their claim seem accurate.
Meanwhile, EW also released the first photos of Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher.
The images appear below via Twitter user @gofobo.
As many already know, Castle is an ex-Special Forces operative with a tragic past who becomes a vigilante. Unlike Daredevil, The Punisher uses guns and resorts to killing criminals.
"He has a different moral code," said showrunner Marco Ramirez of Bernthal's character. "Matt is a devout Catholic - and you rarely see a character who's a devote anything on TV. Frank has Hammurabi's Code. It's like letting a great white shark into the water."
