Apple Eyes Waterproof iPhone 7 On Release Date [Rumors]
Apple's next flagship model iPhone 7, despite the company's traditional secrecy, is rumored to be waterproof as well as an earlier release date.
According to Computer World, iPhone 7 might come without a headphone jack, causing consumers to pay more for certain accessories. With regards to the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack, the site added that on June 2015, Apple was granted a patent for "Non-capacitive or radio-frequency-transparent materials with anodized metal appearance." The company emphasized that the material's finish has "an imitation metal oxide layer."
Techno Buffalo stated that Catcher Technology, a company that provides chassis parts, will be Apple's supplier for the upcoming iPhone 7. Additionally, the report claimed that the new smartphone will be "water-resistant."
However, the technology behind water proofing will be similar in some ways to Sony, which has been making their handsets that are able to withstand water exposure and spillage; but it will not be fully submersible due to extended water exposure.
A report from GSM Arena stated that the company is working on a new compound material that will be able to hide iPhone's previously exposed antenna. Thus, consumers may be witnessing a slightly different look for the upcoming device of Apple.
Apple will surely hit the 2016 with a busy schedule, as they will be launching a line of new products in order to satisfy its growing consumer base. The company is expected to release new line of iPads on spring of 2016. Also, the brand new 4-inch smartphone, probably be called iPhone 7c, were expected to release in 2016. iPhone 6c, a much cheaper iPhone handset potentially using plastic casings, could also be launched this year.
Five years ago, Apple set a trend to release new flagship devices either in September or October. However, for the upcoming iPhone 7, rumors suggest that it will be launched in the summer of 2016.
