Sandara Park has landed her first leading role in a film. According to reports, she will star in the Korean remake of "Begin Again" - which has brought together Mark Ruffalo, Keira Knightley and Adam Levine. Levine has had minor parts on a few TV shows, and the drama-comedy has been his big screen debut.

But, unlike the Maroon 5 lead vocalist, Dara has been in several movies before. Her acting career started in 2004 after finishing second place in a talent search TV program and joining Star Magic - an entertainment stable for young talents - in the Philippines. She has since landed product endorsements, drama series and TV specials.

She has also starred in several movies, wherein her first big break was in "Bcuz of U" for which she won "Best New Actress" during the 21st Philippine Movie Press Club Star Awards.

She returned to South Korea with her family on August 27 and signed a contract with YG Entertainment. Her initial projects before debuting with 2NE1 were feature roles in the TV drama "The Return of Iljimae" and in the music video for Gummy's "I'm Sorry". Her biggest role yet has been the lead character in the web drama series "We Broke Up", which she starred together with Kang Seung Yoon.

Now, she's going to star in her first lead role in a movie with Han Jae Suk, who'll play Mark Ruffalo's character. While "Begin Again" is about an independent songwriter and a struggling record label executive, the Korean remake will be about a songwriter/ part-time employee at a convenience store. She keeps on dreaming of a mysterious melody and resolves to capture it in a song. An internet broadcast director will help her realize it.

The 2013 American drama-comedy has been a big hit in South Korea, so a remake doesn't come as a surprise. Watch out for it in early 2006 and see if Dara does justice to Keira Knightley's character.
